Our resident nutritionist is back for this one!

I had a great chat to Luke Elvish from Future Nutrition and Health all about his experience with various diets. If you can name any type of diet, it’s highly likely he’s tried it. He talks through pros and cons, the impact they have on the body, and we take a dive into the benefits of carbohydrates.

You can find Luke on Instagram @futurenutritionandhealth or contact him at futurenutritioncoaching@gmail.com for 1:1 nutrition coaching.

Bringing you a solo ep this week!

When I started recording this one I thought it was going to be a quick ep, but it seems this gal can ramble. I focus on my signature framework to ‘Set the SCENE to Elevate Your Wellbeing’ where SCENE is the acronym for:
- Sleep
- Connection
- Exercise
- Nutrition, and
- Environment

It represents the foundational pillars of holistic health that influence and are influenced by your menstrual cycle, and it is the approach I use with women who want to take charge of their health no matter what season of life they are in.

If you are feeling out of whack with your hormones, if you want to conceive, if you have irregular or missed periods, or other health conditions like PCOS or thyroid issues, PMS and mood swings, fatigue, low energy, coming off hormonal contraception, difficulties managing weight… this episode is for you!

As you listen, I invite you to do a deep dive and review each of your fundamental pillars of wellness. Pick one or two things to work on over the coming months and see how you change for the better.

This week we bring to you another Period Pal who shares her personal experience so generously.

Trigger warning: This episode explores pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and the psychological impact it has presented with, including self-harm and suicidal ideation. If this episode is not for you, I completely honour that and I look forward to connecting with you next time.

My goal for 'The Period Files' is to share the many unique stories of menstruating people so we can learn from each other and spark curiosity within ourselves as to whether we need to support ourselves towards a healthier menstrual cycle.

This episode was a very spur of the moment decision and I'm so glad I did it! In my opinion, ovulation should be seen as the main event of the menstrual cycle and I want to shine more light on it. I speak to why we should want to know when we ovulate and an overview of the three key signs of ovulation.

It gets a bit deep so strap yourself in! Happy listening and as always, I'm very open to feedback so please shout out with any questions or suggestions.

This week I'm bringing the beautiful Melyssa Treacy into The Rounded Way stratosphere to chat all things exercise in pregnancy. Now I have to apologise for the sound quality, it's still a work in progress and is a little bit rattly, but hopefully you can still get a few pearls of wisdom from what Mel has to share.

Mel is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, owner of Dynamic Health and Exercise Physiology, and has a passion for women's health and injury rehab, helping women move confidently through pregnancy, rehab and beyond. You can find Mel on Instagram @dynamichealthandep and her website https://dynamichep.com.au .

Watch Mel's space, she's working on some exciting resources behind the scenes!

I am SO excited to bring this episode to you, my first guest of (hopefully) many period files. A safe space where menstruating people can share their experience with their cycle, including all of the pervy details of their periods, their highs and their lows, their favorite period products plus more.

This week we chat to a beautifully open book of a human about their wildly unpredictable cycle. We had many laughs recording this and I'm so grateful for my period pal's openness in sharing her story. I hope you enjoy this one!

This week I get a little on my soap box about why it's so important to track and understand your cycle... I probably could have done an episode just on that! But then we dive into the four phases of the menstrual cycle and how they may present for you.

Hoping this sparks some curiosity for where you are in your cycle and how things change as you move through each phase.

My first guest episode!!!

This week I'm bringing you the wonderful Nutritionist (& OT), Luke Elvish from Future Nutrition and Health (pretty sure I say it incorrectly in my intro, sorry Luke!). In this episode we dive into Luke's personal story and where his fascination with nutrition came from. We also cover general nutrition concepts and explore how to improve your health at a metabolic level.

This was a beautifully unstructured chat but maybe next time we'll be more organised!

You can find Luke on Instagram @futurenutritionandhealth or contact him at futurenutritioncoaching@gmail.com for 1:1 nutrition coaching.
